One of the greatest joys of breeding Bernedoodles is that every litter has the potential to surprise us.
Our newest litter, born on the Fourth of July, certainly did just that.
Bella and Milo welcomed eight healthy puppies, and while we expected gorgeous tri-colors and tri-partis, we were delighted to discover one beautiful blonde puppy among the litter.
So… where did that blonde coat come from?
The answer is genetics.
Although Bella is a Multigenerational Mini Tri-Color Bernedoodle and Milo is a Multigenerational Micro Tri-Parti Bernedoodle, Milo’s genetic testing reveals approximately 3% Golden Retriever ancestry further back in his lineage. Occasionally, hidden genes like these can combine in just the right way to create an unexpected color.
It’s one of the fascinating parts of responsible breeding. Every litter is unique, and genetics can produce beautiful surprises while still maintaining the temperament, health, and characteristics we carefully breed for.
Color may catch your eye, but it’s never our primary focus.
At Farm Beach Puppies, our priorities are healthy genetics, excellent temperaments, early socialization, and preparing every puppy to become an exceptional family companion. From the day they’re born, our puppies are handled with care, introduced to positive experiences, and raised inside our family home.
We also implement Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) to help build confidence and resilience. Throughout their first eight weeks, puppies become accustomed to household sounds, gentle handling, nail trims, grooming, baths, and interaction with children. This foundation helps create calm, confident dogs that transition smoothly into family life.
